Tell me about the one pair of shoes from your collection you could not live without
If I were to pick one, it would be my first pair of Nike SBs. The Dunk Low Pro SB "Stussy" from the Team Manager pack in 2005. They were released around the same time as the Tiffany SBs, which definitely took the spotlight, although they were actually rumoured to be the more limited pair.
How did you obtain them?
Before I got into collecting sneakers, I used to buy and sell cameras and phones on this local message board/marketplace called redflagdeals. I ended up getting these in a trade with some other stuff for a cell phone.
Walk us through your ideal collaboration
I'm a big Nike fan, especially their more experimental and innovative shoes. If I were given the chance to collaborate, I would choose the Air Footscape Motion.
Are there any sneakers that stick out in your mind from your childhood?
The first sneaker that comes to mind is the Air Jordan 11 Space Jam. Space Jam was one of my favorite movies. My cousin in Florida had them when we went to visit Disney, he was bragging the whole trip.
Was there a pair of sneakers you remember growing up that you were not able to afford?
I remembered I had seen a pair of Air Jordan 5 Green Beans at the mall. They had done the full upper in 3M, not just the tongue (like most 5's). I begged my mom, but she had just bought me some new sneakers for school. I ended up getting them a few years later for cheap. They're suprisingly unpopular.
What's your most recent pickup?
Chicago Air Jordan 1's.
What’s one grail that continues to elude you?
Medicom 2 Dunk Low SBs, prices on these are insane.
